WHO WE ARE
Glass Service for Cathedral Heights
We’re based in Lorton, VA, and we handle residential and commercial glass projects in Cathedral Heights and across Washington, DC. There’s no showroom in the neighborhood, so the first step is simple: send the address, a few photos and a short note, and we’ll work out what the job needs before we schedule a visit.
Cathedral Heights is a quiet part of Northwest DC named for the Washington National Cathedral. Along Wisconsin and Cathedral avenues you’ll find large apartment, condo and co-op buildings, with detached houses and older rowhouses on the side streets. Glass work in a shared building usually involves more than the glass itself: who owns the window, what management requires, and how the pieces get up to your floor. We’ll talk through those details with you before anything is scheduled.

FAQS
Glass Repair in Cathedral Heights: Common Questions
I live in a condo, co-op or rental. Who is responsible for a broken window?
It depends on your building's governing documents or your lease. In many buildings the association handles exterior windows, while some owners are responsible for their own glass, and renters usually need to report damage to the landlord first. Check with your property manager or board before ordering any work, then send us the address and unit and we'll give you the details you need.
What should I ask my building before a glass job?
Ask whether the work needs board or management approval, which hours contractors are allowed to work, whether an elevator has to be reserved, and whether they want proof of insurance. Also ask if the new glass has to match the existing look. Once you know, tell us and we'll plan around it.
My sliding balcony door is cracked or hard to slide. Do I need a new door?
Not always. If the frame and track are sound, we can often replace the glass panel and fix worn rollers so the door slides and locks properly again. A bent frame or badly worn track may need more work. A photo of the glass and the bottom track helps us tell which it is.
Can large picture windows or floor-to-ceiling glass be replaced?
Yes, but big panes are heavy and awkward, so planning matters. We'll ask about the size, the floor and how the glass will reach you, including elevators, stairs and hallways. Glass is cut to the opening, so we measure on site to get the fit right. See our window glass replacement service.
A window cracked and I'm not sure how urgent it is. What should I do?
A small crack isn't always an emergency, but cracks can spread, and sharp edges and drafts are a safety and comfort problem. Avoid pressing on the glass, keep curtains and furniture clear, and cover the area with tape or plastic if you need to. Send us a photo and we'll tell you whether it can wait or needs prompt attention.
Can you fix glass in several units or windows in one visit?
It's worth asking. If more than one window, door or unit needs work, send the addresses, how many pieces and what's wrong with each, and we'll look at whether grouping the work makes scheduling easier. Each owner or tenant still handles their own approvals with building management. For single pane problems, see broken window glass repair.
