Can I get better insulation or sun control in old wood windows?
Sometimes. Houses with big windows and wide porches can run hot or drafty, and newer glass options may help, but not every old sash can hold a thicker double-pane unit. We check the sash depth and condition first, then explain what will fit instead of forcing in something that won't last.
A pane in my shop's front door cracked. Can I stay open while it's repaired?
It depends on the opening and how bad the crack is. A cracked pane can fail suddenly, so keep customers away from it, post a sign and cover it if you can do so safely.
